Project Manager - Ireland

equal1.labs has been developing silicon-based quantum computer technology since 2017 in collaboration with University College Dublin. We have development centers in Fremont, California and Ireland. We have a bold mission to bring an affordable quantum computer to market. Our unique qubit design and system integration strategy is truly revolutionary, targeting the realization of a desktop size quantum computer and bringing a huge leap forward in processing capability to the market. 

About the Role 

You will work with an exceptional multi-disciplinary team of mixed signal circuit designers, quantum physicists and engineers to ensure we meet our ambitious milestones and tape-outs and bring the exciting vision of a scale-able quantum computer to reality. You will have exceptional communication and organization skills, have a strong entrepreneurial spirit and have a proven track record of delivering impact-full results with a positive, can-do attitude. You need to be able to work independently, remove barriers, embrace change and operate effectively with a high degree of ambiguity.   • Work closely with distributed QPU (quantum processor unit) teams and stakeholders to ensure project success from concept to product release
  • Be the glue that ensures all teams as well as external suppliers and contractors work together to deliver on-time, successful outcomes   
  • Plan hiring and resource allocation as the team grows – the expectation is that you will be one of Equal 1’s primary contacts involved in multiple EU and Irish government funded research programs with collaborative partners
  • Understand deeply the program risks and proactively execute plans to mitigate  
  • Build appropriate metrics and KPIs and report progress to management team

Skills Required

  • Third-level business or technical qualification
  • At least 4 years’ experience responsible for project delivery within a technical or professional services environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Project Management certification, preferably one of the recognised methodologies i.e. Agile, Scrum, Kanban or Lean is desirable 
  • Previous experience with a technology/semiconductor company a plus
